Boise Federal Courthouse, Idaho
Courthouse Image
The James A. McClure Federal Building and United States Courthouse was built in 1966 to house U.S. Courts and other federal agencies. The nine-story building was constructed of steel girder framework with an exterior facade of pre-cast concrete and glass. It is heated with geothermal water from a nearby hot springs. The federal building is nestled in the midst of a historical residential neighborhood and sits adjacent to park-like property on a complex occupied by the Department of Veterans Affairs. The upper floors boast a breathtaking view of the surrounding Boise foothills that are within easy walking distance of the property. (Chris Marshall / CNS)
