Sutter County Courthouse, California
Courthouse Image
Completed in 2016 the new courthouse in Yuba City cost $65 million. The building replaced the historic courthouse built in 1904, a newer one completed in 1962 and a leased building, consolidating all court functions in one location. Award-winning firm Ross Drulis Cusenbery Architecture designed the new energy efficient, seven-courtroom structure adjacent to city hall and the county jail. The grounds feature landscaped, open-air courtyards and afford views of the Sutter Buttes to the northwest. The superior court for neighboring Yuba County is less than four miles away, just across the Feather River. (Chris Marshall / CNS)
